Aged pundit George Will today offered the prognostication that one of three individuals will be inaugurated president in January 2013. Their names are Obama, Daniels and Pawlenty.
We agree. One makes us very happy. One will be a marked improvement. One won't be the end of the world.
Note who's not on the list.

I thought about your possible post when reading this over the weekend; since the world is ending (or is it the Rapture is beginning?) this weekend, you are right that even the choice w/ which I am least happy is not the end of the world :)
I'm glad to read of your favor upon the other Midwestern governor - I have been following him since 2008 VP selection process. I don't think Sen Maverick's (TM) selection of him would have changed the outcome of the election, but it would have changes much since...
Maybe we should scratch Daniels from the list:

Alex L,
There is no BIBLICAL basis for the Rapture. This cult is dying out. The only adherents remaining are those clinging to a badly written book series and poorly made films.
World Net Daily? Really? We guess if those geniuses rejected Daniels, there's no hope for him at all.
Sarcasm alert: Alex L is ridiculing the nutjobs who expect the so-called Rapture this weekend.
So it comes down to either a democrat or an independent. The GOP won't give the nomination to either Daniels or Pawlenty because they lack the courage to nominate a true conservative. The sooner they are demoted to third party status the better.
Why is Bobby Jindal no longer on anyone's short list?
Probably because he hasn't expressed any interest to date. While we wait for Pawlenty and Daniels to decide there is a new entry in the race.
