Recommended "Viewing"

SWNID extremely recommends, passing along a recommendation of WODGC, the bloggingheads.tv offering of political dialogue between John McWhorter and Glenn Loury. The two accomplished public intellectuals speak honestly and unaffectedly about developments in the presidential election.



There's not much to see in this stuff, which looks like it was put together with web cams. But there's plenty to listen to, and it can be speeded up to 1.4x real time for busy folk.

We've been intrigued by Loury since reading his One by One from the Inside Out. These dialogues remind us that we need to get caught up on his more recent books.

I heard this and one other by them, and was impressed with how friendly & civil they are. In stark contrast was the intolerable 9/17/08 session between Pinkston and Hamsher. mattc
