CCU Unashamed After First Game with NCAA D-I Opponent

CCU's men's basketball team met the Citadel Saturday night, in what we all assume is CCU's first match against an NCAA D-I opponent.

The 70-55 final score indicates that the CCU men comported themselves with competitive dignity. So does their shooting over 70% from the line and over 45% from behind the arc.

Nice job, men! Now, back to class.

you mean first game against D1 this year right? they play a D1 school every year. It's been Liberty the past few years.

True enough. Make it CCU's first game against a non-faith-based D-I opponent.

Actually on Dec 22, 2004 CCU Men's team played Nicholls State, losing 101-45. Donnie Fishburn was our leading scorer with 10 points. This years team did much better.

OK, we definitely stand corrected on our historical references.

Maybe it's safe to say this was the first time CCU made it on the ESPN "crawl"?

Sorry, the Nicholls State game was on the crawl as well. Although, that may have been before the CBC/CCU switch.

haha the only first was that it was the first time CCU played Citadel. wow...I believe you may have reached your quota for your lifetime as far as the amount of times you can be wrong.
